Project Overview:

Machinery and Equipment located in Burabazar, a shop where you find the best machinery and they needed their shop to have recognition so here comes the signage part and branding. Kolkata needed signage that could do two jobs at once, look sharp during the day and stay visible once it got dark. They came to Riot Color India with a straightforward task: an ACP inner cutting glow signage for the front of their facility.

Nothing overly fancy, just something that works, holds up outdoors, and represents the brand the way it should. The whole job, design, fabrication, installation, was handled by our in-house team from start to finish.

Materials & Technical Specifications:

We went with ACP panels for the base structure, inner-cut to get that layered look instead of a flat printed board. The letters were built out of 3mm solid acrylic, which holds its shape better and gives the sign a bit of depth once the light hits it. Vinyl cutting took care of the finer detailing, keeping the text crisp and the edges clean. LEDs were mounted inside for the glow effect, spaced out carefully so there’s no dull patch anywhere on the board. Everything used here is meant for outdoor conditions, Kolkata’s humidity and monsoon weather included.

Major Project Challenges:

Kolkata’s weather isn’t exactly kind to outdoor signage, humidity, rain, and temperature swings all take a toll over time. That meant material selection had to account for more than just looks.

On-site measurements had to be exact before fabrication started, since the mounting structure needed to fit the facility wall without any adjustments later. LED spacing took a couple of rounds of testing to get the glow even across the panel. The inner cutting on the ACP had to line up perfectly with the design file, and the acrylic letters needed consistent depth so the finished sign didn’t look uneven once lit up at night. Installation in Burabazar was done at a height that required extra safety precautions, and the crew worked around that carefully.

Project Timeline:

Design – Client Approval –  Material Sourcing – Fabrication –  Quality Check – Installation – Final Inspection

Sticking to this order kept the project on track and meant fewer surprises once we got to site.

Project Team:

  • Design Team – Worked out the layout first, keeping road-level visibility in mind since the facility sits on a fairly busy stretch.
  • Production Team – Handled the ACP cutting, the acrylic letters, and the vinyl work in-house.
  • Electrical Team – Fitted and tested every LED before the panel left the workshop.
  • Installation Team – Mounted the sign on-site and checked alignment twice before calling it done.
  • Quality Team – Gave the finished sign a final look over before handover.

Client Objectives:

  • Get better visibility for the facility from the main road
  • A sign that reads well in daylight and glows evenly at night
  • Materials that won’t fade or wear out fast in Kolkata’s climate
  • Clean, even lettering with no visible flaws
  • One vendor managing the whole job, no coordination hassle
  • Something that looks intentional, not just another board on the wall

Conclusion:

There wasn’t much complexity in the brief itself, build a glow sign, make it visible, make it last through Kolkata’s weather and specifically even for Ganges areas. The work was in the details, getting the ACP cut right, keeping the acrylic letters consistent, spacing the LEDs so nothing looks patchy, and mounting it securely at height without cutting corners.

What’s up now does what it was meant to. It reads clean in daylight, lights up evenly once the sun’s down, and it’s built to stay that way for years, not just look good for the first few months. Riot Color India handled the whole thing in-house, and that’s really what made the difference here, one team, one process, no gaps for things to go wrong.
